We aim to provide educators with an immersive learning experience at the Tybee Oyster Company’s floating oyster farm and space to discuss STEAM connections in their classrooms.

We are engaging with student from different schools to emphasize the essential role oysters play in the ecosystem through classroom visits. Topics include oysters as filter feeders, exploring aquaculture, oyster anatomy, water quality, experiments, and more! Students are encouraged to consider oysters as a nature-based solution for tackling environmental challenges.

Observe the oyster farming process firsthand with a boat trip to Tybee Oyster Company’s farm. Participate in hands-on activities, which may include water quality testing, plankton and marine invertebrates sampling and identification.

We provide educators foundational knowledge on oyster aquaculture and coastal ecology.

Through participation in STEM nights, fundraising events, and public gatherings, we bring the fascinating world of oysters and aquaculture to a wider audience. We aim to raise awareness about their ecological importance and promote sustainable practices.
